Weight training is a simple art of growing your strength and muscles by bidding yourself against weights. Quite simply, you push against the resistance offered by the weights and in the process of overcoming the resistance your strength and muscles grow and develop. Every time you push against the resistance, you grow stronger.
Everyday life too works like that. Every time we take something new up, resistance is inevitable. Often however, we misinterpret the resistance/ failure as a threat and get dis-empowered by it. However, the resistance viewed from a perspective of opportunity seeking is just the door to the next level of performance in the aspect that you seek to conquer. So I suggest, be empowered now that you are at the door, for what is left is to push and push hard till the door gives way.
That is why an enlightened soul once proclaimed to me, 'failure is wow'. It just means that you have made it through the old path and now stand at the feet of something undiscovered, if only you leave our dis-empowering context, and seek a clearing for performance to grow. Contrary to conventional wisdom which says that failure means that you haven't made it, I now believe that failure is just a messenger that is telling you that you have almost made it!
